Another piece of my soul falls to the ground

Withering under a deluge of acid rain

So I turn my face to the moon, eyes joining the stars

I will my heart to the heavens, wishing for God’s grace

But prayers sent heavenward are prayers wasted it seems

No water, no earth, no wind, no fire

Can pull from the heavens to my face

What I request in my skyward gaze.

Thank you for taking the time to read my poem! I wrote it especially for Medium and created the image especially for the poem. Here a few other short poems I wrote for Medium:

I personally find it inspiring to see the listings with their images and opening lines- almost as inspiring as seeing the support on each one!

I write poetry, prose, and personal pieces. All images are mine unless indicated otherwise. Feel free to leave feedback on my work anytime; I hope you enjoy.
