Do you tell her she’s the one for you?

Do you call her the fairest of them all?

Not that I care what she’s hearing,

Because she’s just a girl

Who will realize one day

That you aren’t good enough for her,

That she has always deserved better.

But I do want to know

Is she what you wanted me to be?

Has she been worth losing me for?

People tell me I should’ve said something,

That day our paths crossed all alone

But the greatest way for me to say-

Is to say nothing at all.

Nothing to you. Nothing to her.

She is pretty-

Prettier than me?

She is smart-

Smarter than me?

She is talented-

Is she as good as me?

Not that any of it matters

But I just wonder,

Want to know

If I was more like her

Would you have been better?

Are you even better for her

Than you were for me?

Or did you never learn

That you’ll never be happy

If you keep putting yourself

First. Always.?

But tell me this-

Because that’s what I really want to know-

Is it any different with her?
