I Lost a Friend
Not only did I lose the chance to
be Happy in a whole new way
That was icing on the cake you burned
but I lost a friend, such a good one
How dare you mess him up so much
that Now he won’t be around anyone
How dare you take pure honey
and Stomp it into the dirt like a bug
Have you figured out yet
You have Fire and flames
Circling your irises Because
I just realized Ice and hail
Isn’t nearly as strong as I thought
I know she changed the Way you
Think about people like me
But I can do better than she did.
And I’m not the Person she is
You stumbling through empty days
And seeing life only in grays
Is such a tragic sight for the rest of us
When I remember the beauty in brightness .
